The chances are that you will travel to Gozo by ferry from Cirkewwa in Malta. This 30 minute ride will take you to Mgarr Harbour, which is still considered to be a fishing village by many, in fact one will find a number of excellent fish restaurants down by the quay. A nearby attraction is 'Forth Chambray', which was built by the Knights in 1749 to guard the harbour from unfriendly threats.
San Lawrenz (St Lawrence) is a little village that lies beneath Gozo's highest hill known as "Ta'Dbigi". Passing through San Lawrenz one can find the way to Dwejra Bay, home to the natural wonders of the Azure Window, Fungus Rock & the Inland Sea of "Il Qawra", an area which is very popular with diving enthusiasts. Due to its tranquil environment, San Lawrenz is very popular with those Maltese who travel to Gozo regularly.
Victoria (previously known as Rabat) is the Capital City of Gozo & was named after Queen Victoria in 1887, in honour of her diamond jubilee year. The ancient Citadel is situated in Victoria, which is now home to fewer than 10 people, however it is full of activity as the Gozo Cathedral, Law Courts, Cathedral Museum, Folklore Museum, Natural History Museum & the Citadel Armoury all lie within its walls.
Xlendi is a typical Gozitan fishing village wedged between large cliffs. Xlendi is a popular summer resort with restaurants lined up on the seafront, keeping a busy atmospgere from the morning till late. Xlendi is also home to a number of dive shops as well as Gozo's largest outdoor nightclub "Grotta" which when translated to English means "Cave"
