Nightlife in Malta & Gozo

On of the great things about Maltese nightlife and clubbing is it is concentrated in two specific areas that are easily accessible, St. Julians / Paceville area and Qawra / Bugibba area.

Both Pacevile and Bugibba are lined with bars and clubs actually there is a very fine line between the bars and clubs as both venues play loud music and often many have live Deejays playing through the night entertaining the crowds.  Here one will find a good selection of entertainment area from bars to nightclubs, wine bars and restaurants with a variety of both indoor and out door during the summer months.

The night often starts late for the locals as most of the clubs are licensed until 4am.  Throughout the summer and during Easter, parties are organised by the local Deejays and organisers. Entrance to these parties is by ticket and buying your ticket beforehand is advisable. Look out for the billboards and adverts marking these events during your stay.

In past couple of years wine bars have been on a steady increase opening in the more urban village areas such as Birgu and also in our Capital City Valletta. These wine bars offer a Maltese night out as old houses of character have been converted and restored with their pristine stone ambience, offering a beautiful setting and natural cool surroundings. These beautiful buildings with their thick walls are ideal for housing wine cellars that are usually found in the basement. The wine bars that have opened in the towns and villages offer local wines and local snacks with soft background music making this a complete and relaxed night out.

Enjoy Yourself !! But Do Remember that it is illegal to walk with alcoholic glass beverages in the road in Malta or Gozo, unless these are closed. Drunk Driving is also against the Law in Malta, Get a cab if you are under the influence of Alcohol.
